Four Score and Seven Years Ago! Lincoln’s 87-Year U-Turn on the Declaration and the Meaning of America.

When Abraham Lincoln uttered those now famous words, “four score and seven years ago,” he brought Americans back to the Declaration, not the Constitution, and in doing so reoriented the nation back on a path of liberty and natural rights.
