When Abraham Lincoln uttered those now famous words, “four score and seven years ago,” he brought Americans back to the Declaration, not the Constitution, and in doing so reoriented the nation back on a path of liberty and natural rights. It was a “new birth of freedom.” Host: Historical Society of Glastonbury.
