The Historical Society of Glastonbury presents CONNECTICUT RIVER FERRIES: Past, Present & Future by Captain Paul Costello
Of the nearly two dozen ferries that criss-crossed the river in Connecticut since 1641, from Windsor to Old Saybrook, only two ferry operations remain on the Connecticut River: the Rocky Hill-Glastonbury and Chester-Hadlyme ferries. Despite the history and duration of these two ferries, they remain hidden gems, known only to a minority of the State’s residents.
Join Captain Paul Costello as he delves into the details of these ferries—their histories, current operations, and their futures.
Paul has worked on the Connecticut River for more than 25 years, as a captain of the ferries and nearly every commercial passenger vessel on the lower Connecticut River.
