Volunteer

We rely on and always appreciate our dedicated volunteers. If you are interested in history and education, our docent museum guides offer tours of the Museum on the Green and at events at the Welles-Shipman-Ward property.  All volunteers are trained by our education staff and given support until they feel comfortable on their own.

We also always need volunteers at our Museum on the Green during opening hours to assist with clerical duties, historical research, and greeting visitors.

Volunteer Opportunities

Docents

Our museum guides provide educational content on Glastonbury School tours, at events and in the Museum on the Green. No knowledge of history or of Glastonbury is required. We will train you. All you need is enthusiasm for providing historical information and context to our visitors and guests.

Museum Volunteers

Our Museum on the Green is often a very busy place and volunteers willing to provide assistance with clerical tasks such as basic data entry, answering phones and greeting guests are needed. No prior experience needed. We will train you and schedule you based on your availability.
